Municipal Court Judge Marshall Contact

The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over cases within their territorial jurisdiction, including violations of municipal ordinance, violations of motor vehicle and traffic laws, disorderly person’s offenses, petty disorderly person’s offenses and other non-indictable offenses, except where exclusive jurisdiction is given to the Superior Court. Also included within this jurisdiction are violations of fish and game laws and weights and measures.

Payment Options

To address fees associated with certain violations residents may utilize an on-line payment option which is made available by the State of New Jersey. Payments can be made using a VISA or MasterCard only. This service can be found on the internet at www.njmcdirect.com. Directions for payments and some frequently asked questions are found on this site. Customers may also make payments at the Municipal Court Building. The violations payment window is open to the public from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. If you are unable to make a payment at the violation window and do not wish to use regular mail, you are welcome to drop off a payment, in the form of a check or money order, in the drop box located in the lobby of the Police Department.

Payments can be made by credit card (VISA and MasterCard only), however, this option is only available at the violation payment window. Credit Card payments cannot be made over the phone.

Security

All persons entering the Municipal Court will be required to pass through a metal detector. Any person(s) with medical conditions that would be affected by the metal detector are asked to enter through the Plainfield Police Station entrance on East Fourth Street.
