
The Municipal Court sessions will now be conducted virtually/remotely via the Zoom Platform to minimize the exposure to COVID-19. When contacting the Municipal Court by fax, email, regular mail or voicemail provide the following information.
You must provide the following information:
- 3Summons, Ticket or Complaint Number
- Cell phone Number along with provider
The Court will mail a notice for your virtual court appearance that will have a neon sticker on the front of the notice with the Zoom login information, ID and password.

Where may I pay my fine?
www.NJMCdirect.comThe Plainfield Municipal Court is part of a dispute resolution program with
www.NJMCdirect.com. It allows litigants that have a ticket in the City of Plainfield to fight the ticket online instead of going to court or appearing virtually via Zoom.
The public can access the Online Municipal Case Resolution system through
www.NJMCdirect.com after entering a valid ticket number.
The ticket must have one of the 37 eligible offenses codes.

- When the user clicks the dispute case button, will be prompted to register and create an account.
- After the registration process, they will be able to proceed with disputing the case.

Also included within this jurisdiction are violations of fish and game laws and weights and measures.

Payments can be made using a VISA or MasterCard only. This service can be found on the internet at
www.njmcdirect.com. Directions for payments and some frequently asked questions are found on this site.
Customers may also make payments at the Municipal Court Building. The violations payment window is open to the public from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. If you are unable to make a payment at the violation window and do not wish to use regular mail, you are welcome to drop off a payment, in the form of a check or money order, in the drop box located in the lobby of the Police Department.
Payments can be made by credit card (VISA and MasterCard only), however, this option is only available at the violation payment window. Credit Card payments cannot be made over the phone.
Payments for code enforcement, housing violations and criminal cases on a payment plan can be made online.All persons entering the Municipal Court will be required to pass through a metal detector. Any person(s) with medical conditions that would be affected by the metal detector are asked to enter through the Plainfield Police Station entrance on East Fourth Street.
